NEW SAFETY ENGAGEMENT DEVICE

NOTE This device will be adopted from January 1995.

Removing-refitting safety engagement device

  1. Remove the rear mudguard interior trim as described on pages 1 and following, release the safety engagement device, then lift the hood in the half open position.
  2. Disconnect the cable from the safety engagement system.
  3. Undo the nut securing the safety engagement device to the hood.
  4. Release the safety engagement device complete with reaction spring.
  5. To refit, reverse the procedure for removal, making sure that the reaction spring homes correctly against the hood frame.
