PLANNED MAINTENANCE

Suitable maintenance constitutes a decisive factor in prolonging the life of the vehicle and ensuring optimum performance. With this in mind, FIAT has prepared a series of checks and maintenance operations listed in the six coupons in the "Service Booklet" and collected together in the "Planned maintenance operations" summary. Each replacement or repair operation which becomes necessary whilst carrying out each planned maintenance service should receive prior approval from the Owner.

The planned maintenance service is offered by the entire FIAT Dealer Network.

Warning triangle symbol

It is advisable to notify the Service Network without delay of any small operating problems (e.g. leaks, even slight, of essential fluids) so that they can be remedied before the next service. It is not advisable to allow more than a year to elapse between services, even if the recommended mileage has not been reached.

Lubrication service

For the correct and optimum operation of the engine, it is advisable to use the type of oil recommended in the "supplies" table.

PREFACE - Engine oil

If the vehicle is used mainly in one of the following particularly harsh conditions:

  • towing a trailer or caravan
  • dusty roads
  • repeated short journeys (less than 7÷8 km) at sub-zero outside temperatures
  • engine often idling or driving long distances at low speeds (e.g. taxi service or door to door deliveries),

change the engine oil and the air filter more frequently than indicated in the Planned Maintenance Programme. If there are any doubts aboutthe frequencies for changing the engine oil and filter in relation to the usage of the vehicle, seek advice from the Fiat Service Network.

Additional operations

In addition to the operations in the "Planned Maintenance Programme" the following checks are also necessary

Check every 500 km or before long journeys - engine oil level
- coolant level
- brake fluid level
- tyre inflation pressure
- windscreen washer fluid level
Replace after 105,000 km - timing belt
Replace every 2 years - brake fluid
