Removal and Installation

Special Tool(s)

Remover/Installer, Blower Motor

CAUTION:
CAUTION:Do not touch the blower motor fan wheel in order to prevent damage to the fan wheel blades. Failure to follow this instruction may result in an imbalance of the fan wheel.
CAUTION:
CAUTION:Do not lay the blower motor down on the blower motor fan wheel.
  1. Remove the center console extension. For additional information, refer to: (501-12 Instrument Panel and Console)
    Floor Console Extension (Removal and Installation),
    Floor Console Extension - Vehicles Built From: 03/2007, Vehicles With: Center Armrest (Removal and Installation).

2. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s).

3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Removal Details

Item 7 : Glove compartment

  1. Detach the passenger airbag deactivation (PAD) switch connector (if present).

Item 16 : Blower motor

  1. Detach the blower motor connector.

  1. Release the blower motor.
    1. Press the release button.
    1. Turn the blower motor counter-clockwise to the stop.

  1. Using the special tool, remove the blower motor from the passenger's side.

Installation Details

Item 16 : Blower motor

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Note the top position on the blower motor.
    Using the special tool, bring the blower motor into the installation position from the passenger's side.
    • Turn the blower motor into the installation position with the aid of another technician from the driver's side, insert and turn clockwise as far as possible.
