Disconnect the battery ground cable.

Remove the air cleaner.

Detach the battery cables from the transmission housing. | | | -
Raise and support the vehicle.

Remove the engine undershield. - Rotate the locking tangs counterclockwise.

Remove the starter motor solenoid electrical connector retaining nuts and detach the electrical connector from the starter motor solenoid (wiring harness shown removed for clarity). | 8. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s). 5 - Battery positive cable electrical connector 6 - Battery positive and battery negative cable retaining clip 7 - Battery ground cable to body electrical connector 8 - Starter motor retaining bolt 9 - Starter motor solenoid electrical connector 10 - Generator battery cable electrical connector 9. To install, reverse the removal procedure. | | -

Detach the battery ground cable terminal clamp.

Remove the battery retaining bracket retaining nut to allow the battery ground cable to be removed from under the battery retaining bracket. | Item 4 : Battery positive cable terminal clamp cover | | -

Connect the battery ground cable.
