Oil Filter Adapter: Service and Repair
Removal
1. Raise vehicle on a hoist.
2. For better access, remove radiator air deflector.
3. Position a drain pan under oil bypass filter area.
4. Unscrew the oil bypass filter from oil filter adapter using an oil-filter wrench.
5. Clean the oil bypass filter sealing surface of oil filter adapter.
6. If removal of the oil filter adapter is required, proceed with the following:
