Air Duct Cable

Function Control Cable

1. Move the function control to the DEFROST position on the climate control assembly.
2. Insert a heater control locator pin through the function control cam locator pin slot and the heater case locator pin boss opening to secure the cam

in the proper position.

3. Remove the instrument panel cover below the glove compartment, if equipped.

NOTE:  The function control cam is located on the right side of the heater.

4. Disconnect the cable from the retaining clip next to the function control cam.
5. Move the function control to the DEFROST position.

NOTE:  Do not exert any force on the cam during cable installation.

6. Connect the cable straight to the retaining clip.
7. Remove the heater control locator pin.
8. Install the instrument panel cover, if equipped.
9. Verify that the function control moves its full stroke.

NOTE:  If after performing this adjustment air bleeds through the panel vents when in the FLOOR, MIX or DEFROST position, lengthen the
adjustment rod 1-2 turns.

Recirc/Fresh Air Control Cable

1. Move the function control to the DEFROST (far right) position on the climate control assembly.
2. Remove the glove compartment.

3. Insert heater control locator pin through the RECIRC/fresh air cam locator pin slot to secure the cam in the proper (fresh air) position.
4. Disconnect the cable from the retaining clip next to the RECIRC/fresh air cam.
5. Connect the cable to the retaining clip.
6. Remove the heater control locator pin.
7. Install the glove compartment.
8. Verify that the function control operates properly in the RECIRC and in the other (fresh air) positions.
