Ford Excursion workshop manuals
Ford Excursion at a glance: 9 manuals, covering 2000 to 2004 models, with engines from 5.4 to 7.3 litres.
About the Excursion
The Excursion was a heavy-duty full-size SUV sold from 2000 to 2005, built on the chassis of the F-250 Super Duty pickup at Ford's Kentucky Truck Plant. It was aimed at the three-quarter-ton Chevrolet Suburban and for nearly two decades was the longest SUV ever mass-produced. It still has the longest wheelbase of any SUV. Ford replaced it with the long-wheelbase Expedition EL for 2007.
What these manuals cover
- Petrol: the 5.4-litre Triton V8 and the 6.8-litre V10, including a CNG version of the V10.
- Diesel: the 7.3-litre Power Stroke from launch, replaced during 2003 by the 6.0-litre Power Stroke with a variable-geometry turbo.
Every Excursion had an automatic gearbox, and both 2WD and 4WD versions are covered.
Tip: under the body it's an F-250 Super Duty, so the F-250 4WD and F-250 2WD manuals with the same engine and year are a useful second reference.
