Excursion 4WD V10-6.8L VIN S (2000)
Mark and remove the four front driveshaft to transfer case bolts.
5. Note: Wrap electrical tape around the bearing cups to prevent them from failing off the U-joint spider.
Remove the front driveshaft.

Compress and separate the front driveshaft from the front axle then separate the driveshaft from the transfer case.
Installation
1. WARNING: Replace with new bolts and retainers after the third removal.
Note:

Install the front driveshaft with the index marks aligned.

Prior to the third removal, clean the bolt threads and apply Loctite(R) 242 or equivalent.
Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
