Drive/Propeller Shaft: Service and Repair
Rear, One-Piece

Removal 

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Index mark the rear driveshaft to the rear axle flange and at the transfer case flange.

3. WARNING:  Replace with new bolts and retainers after the third removal. 

Disconnect the rear driveshaft from the rear axle.
1. Mark and remove the driveshaft to rear axle bolts.
2. Remove the U-joint retainers.

4. WARNING:  Replace with new bolts after the third removal.
