Ford EXP workshop manuals
Ford EXP at a glance: 6 manuals, covering 1982 to 1986 models, with engines from 1.6 to 1.9 litres.
About the EXP
The EXP was a two-seat sports coupe built from 1982 to 1988, the first two-seat Ford since the original Thunderbird. It was based on the North American Escort and used the same engines and chassis, with its own lower roofline and front and rear styling. Mercury sold a twin, the LN7, for 1982 and 1983. The EXP was facelifted during 1985 and dropped after 1988.
What these manuals cover
- 1982–1985: the 1.6-litre CVH four with a carburettor, fuel injection, a high-output version, and the 1984 EXP Turbo.
- 1986: the 1.9-litre fuel-injected high-output engine.
Tip: because the EXP is an Escort underneath, the Escort manuals with the same engine and year cover the same mechanical work. The Mercury LN7 is the EXP's twin for 1982–1983.
