Ford Expedition workshop manuals
Ford Expedition at a glance: 13 manuals, covering 1997 to 2009 models, with engines from 4.6 to 5.4 litres.
About the Expedition
The Expedition arrived for 1997 as the replacement for the two-door Bronco. It was a five-door SUV based on the F-150, with seating for up to eight, and from 1998 it had a luxury twin in the Lincoln Navigator. The 2003 redesign made it the first full-size SUV with independent suspension at all four wheels, and the 2007 model moved to a new frame with a long-wheelbase EL version.
What these manuals cover
- 1997–2000 (first generation): the 4.6-litre Triton V8 as standard and the 5.4-litre as an option, both uprated with the 1999 facelift.
- 2005–2006 (second generation): the 5.4 V8 with the new independent rear suspension.
- 2007–2009 (third generation): the 5.4-litre V8 on the new T1 frame.
Tip: the Lincoln Navigator shares the Expedition's platform, and the F-150 of the same years uses the same Triton V8s.
