Explorer 2WD V6-245 4.0L SOHC VIN E EFI (1997)
1. Use (A) Field Coil Replacer, (B) Coil Pressing Tool and (C) 2-Jaw Puller to install the (D) A/C clutch field coil.
NOTE: Check that the A/C clutch field coil outer diameter sits flush against the head. Make sure that the field coil electrical connector is
correctly positioned.
2. Install the clutch bearing and pulley.
3. Install the pulley snap ring with the bevel side out.
4. Place one nominal thickness shim inside the hub spline opening.
5. Slide the hub onto the compressor shaft.

Check the A/C clutch air gap.
