Normal Operation

The following modules communicates using the medium speed CAN:
-

instrument cluster

-

smart junction box (SJB)

-

parking aid module (if equipped)

driver seat module (DSM) (if equipped)

electronic automatic temperature control (EATC) module (if equipped)

retractable running board module (if equipped)

-

audio control unit or audio control unit with navigation (if equipped)

satellite radio receiver (if equipped)

digital versatile disk (DVD) player (if equipped)

The medium speed CAN has an unshielded twisted pair cable, circuits VDB06 (GY/OG) and VDB07 (VT/OG).

For normal operation of the medium speed CAN, correct network termination resistance in both the SJB and instrument cluster is required.
The SJB and the instrument cluster share network termination responsibilities with the use of a split termination resistor in each module.

Check the medium speed CAN circuits between each network module and the data link connector (DLC) C251. The total resistance values must not be
