1.

Disconnect battery ground cables, then drain cooling system.

2.

Remove air cleaner. Install intake air opening cap, tool T83T-9424-A or equivalent.

3.

Remove fan shroud, then the fan and clutch assembly. The fan retaining nut has lefthand threads.

4.

Remove fuel injection pump, injection pump adapter and water pump.

5.

Raise and support vehicle.

6.

Remove torsional damper, then disconnect ground cables from front of engine.

7.

Remove front cover to engine block and oil pan attaching bolts.

8.

Lower vehicle.

9.

Remove front cover to engine block attaching bolts, then the front cover.

10.

Using seal removal tool T80T-4000-W or equivalent, remove seal from front cover, Fig. 12.

11.

Reverse procedure to install. Lubricate new oil seal with DOAZ-19584-A grease, or equivalent. Apply a bead of sealant to mating surface as
shown in Fig. 13.
