40. Apply a new, continuous bead of sealant to the axle housing cover.
Use Silicone Rubber D6AZ-19562-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specifications ESB-M4G92-A and ESE-M4G195-A.
NOTE: The axle housing cover must be installed within 15 minutes of application of the silicone, or new sealant must be applied. If possible, allow 1
hour before filling with lubricant to ensure the silicone sealant has properly cured.
41. Install the axle housing cover and tighten the axle housing cover bolts.
42. Install the driveshaft (4602); refer to Drive Propeller Shaft. See: Drive/Propeller Shafts, Bearings and Joints/Drive/Propeller Shaft
43. Install the axle shafts (4234); refer to Axle Shaft. See: Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Axle Shaft
NOTE: For limited slip [Traction-Lok (R)] applications, Additive Friction Modifier C8AZ-19B546- A or equivalent meeting Ford specification
EST-M2C118-A must be added prior to filling the axle with the specified lubricant.
44. Refill the axle.
