Remove cylinder head as outlined previously.
2.
Remove rocker arm shaft assembly retaining bolts, then the rocker shaft assemblies.
3.
To prevent camshaft rotation, position suitable open end wrench on flats on front part of camshaft, then remove camshaft sprocket retaining bolt
and camshaft sprocket.
4.
Remove camshaft thrust plate attaching bolt, then the thrust plate, Fig. 7.

Carefully slide camshaft out of cylinder head.
6.
Drive camshaft front seal from cylinder head using suitable tool. Use caution to prevent damaging bearing surface.
7.
Prelube camshaft journals and lobes, then install camshaft and thrust plate.
8.
Lubricate front seal bore and seal lip with engine oil, then drive new seal into cylinder head using tool T87C-6019-A or equivalent, Fig. 8.
Torque/De-torque Sequence
9.
Install camshaft sprocket and retaining bolt. Hold sprocket with large screwdriver, then torque retaining bolt to 36-45 ft. lbs.
10.
Install rocker shaft assemblies and torque retaining bolts to 16-21 ft. lbs. in sequence shown in Fig. 9. As bolts are being tightened, pull back on
