Removal

  1. Remove the oil pan.
    For additional information, refer to Oil Pan - in this section.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not remove the crankshaft pulley at this stage.
    Using the special tool, remove the crankshaft pulley bolt.

  1. Remove the accessory drive belt idler pulley.

  1. Remove the oil pick-up pipe.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Only remove the oil pump together with the crankshaft pulley.
    CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not remove the crankshaft pulley from the oil pump after oil pump assembly removal.
    Remove the oil pump assembly.
    • Discard the pre-sealed oil pump retaining bolts.
    • Discard the gasket.

Installation

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Only install the oil pump together with the crankshaft pulley.
    CAUTION:
    CAUTION:When installing a new oil pump, do not remove the crankshaft pulley or the assembly clip before installation.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Install a new oil pump gasket.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:A new oil pump is supplied as an assembly with a crankshaft front seal and a crankshaft pulley.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Do not tighten the bolts at this stage.
    Install the oil pump assembly.

  1. Using the special tool, tighten the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt.
    • If installing a new oil pump, remove the assembly clip.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The oil pump sealing flange must be within ± 0.20 mm of the cylinder block bottom sealing flanges.
    Using a suitable straightedge, align the oil pump to the cylinder block sealing flanges.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install new pre-sealed bolts in position 1 and 3.
    Tighten the oil pump retaining bolts (engine shown removed for clarity).
    • Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that the O-ring seal is correctly seated.
    Install the oil pick-up pipe.

  1. Install the accessory drive belt idler pulley.
  1. Install the oil pan.
