  1. Remove the oil pan.
    For additional information, refer to: Oil Pan (303-01E Engine - 1.6L Duratorq-TDCi (DV) Diesel, In-vehicle Repair).
  1. Remove the timing belt.
    For additional information, refer to: Timing Belt (303-01E Engine - 1.6L Duratorq-TDCi (DV) Diesel, In-vehicle Repair).

  1. Install the engine front mount bracket.
    • Install the retaining bolts finger tight.

  1. Install the engine front mount.
    • Install the retaining bolts finger tight.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to: (100-02 Jacking and Lifting)

6. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s).

7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Removal Details

Item 4 : Crankshaft front seal

  1. Remove the crankshaft pulley Woodruff key.

  1. Using the special tool, remove the crankshaft front seal.
    • Discard the seal.

Item 7 : Oil pump retaining bolts

  1. Remove the oil pump retaining bolts.

Installation Details

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that any sealant residue does not enter the lower crankcase and the cylinder block blind holes. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the engine assembly.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Do not damage the mating faces.
    Clean the mating faces of the lower crankcase and the cylinder block.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Install the oil pump within four minutes of applying the sealant.
    Apply a 5 mm bead of sealant to the mating face of the lower crankcase and the cylinder block.

  1. Install the oil pump retaining bolts.
    • Tighten the bolts in two stages in the sequence shown.
    • Stage 1: Install the retaining bolts finger tight.
    • Stage 2: 10 Nm.

Item 4 : Crankshaft front seal

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:A new crankshaft front seal is supplied with an alignment sleeve which will be pushed out during installation.
    Using the special tool, install the crankshaft front seal.

  1. Install the crankshaft pulley Woodruff key.

  1. Using a trolley jack with suitable wooden blocks, support the engine.
