Removal and Installation

Removal

WARNING:
WARNING:Note the position of the wiring harnesses, to aid installation. An incorrectly routed wiring harness could become damaged when the seat is moved. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
  1. Raise the seat to maximum height.
  1. Remove the front seat cushion.
    For additional information, refer to Front Seat Cushion in this section.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The plastic retaining clip may break on removal. Always install a new clip to prevent loose trim.
    Remove the seat outer trim panel.
    1. Detach and discard the front retaining clip.
    1. Detach the rear locking tang.

  1. Remove the seat outer trim panel.
    1. Using a suitable screwdriver, detach the rear retaining clip.
    1. Raise the seat outer trim panel.

  1. Detach the side air bag module electrical connector from the underside of the seat.
    1. Using a suitable screwdriver, depress the locking tang.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    1. Detach the retaining clip.

  1. Detach the side air bag module wiring harness from the seat frame.
    • Detach the retaining clips.

  1. Detach the backrest heater mat electrical connector from the underside of the seat.
    1. Using a suitable screwdriver, depress the locking tang.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    1. Detach the retaining clip.

  1. Detach the backrest heater mat wiring harness from the seat frame.
    • Detach the retaining clips.

  1. Remove the safety belt buckle and pretensioner.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:To avoid damage to the backrest recliner handwheel, even pressure must be applied to the opposite sides of the handwheel.
    Remove the backrest recliner handwheel.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The plastic retaining clip may break on removal. Always install a new clip to prevent loose trim.
    Remove the seat inner trim panel retaining clip pin and remove the trim panel.

  1. Remove the front seat backrest.
    1. Release the front seat backrest latch.
    1. Remove the retaining nuts.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
