Replacement parts - A-pillar/apron panel reinforcement
| Removal | -
General: - Before starting repairs, dismantle rocker panel, apron panel reinforcement and front roof frame.
- Necessary removal work: Wing, door, A-pillar trim panel, rocker panel trim and driver or passenger seat.
- Reposition the carpeting and the wiring harness away from the working area.

A-Pillar outer - Mill out the spot welds (two panel thicknesses).
- Grind out the MIG weld seams.
- Heat the area (approx. 170° C) and release the NVH element.
| Installation NOTE:Before resistance spot welding of body panels with a total panel thickness of 3 mm and greater, the welding equipment instructions contained in sub-section 501-25 must be followed. | -
A-pillar outer panel - Drill holes for puddle welding (10 mm diameter).
| NOTE:The new parts must be positioned accurately in order for the roof mechanism to work properly. | -
Fit the new parts and fix with the alignment angle. | | -
A-Pillar outer - Apply PU window adhesive to the A-pillar reinforcement.
NOTE:By drilling out the holes it is possible to weld all three layers of metal together. - Drill out by one panel thickness and puddle weld.
- Continuous MIG weld seam.
