Removal and Installation

  1. Replacement parts
    • Lamp mounting panel
    • Lamp mounting panel reinforcement

Removal

  1. General information
    • The rear panel is already removed before starting the repair.
    • Move carpets and wiring out of the working area.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:When making the inner rough separating cut (position 1), the lamp mounting panel reinforcement which is located on the inside must be cut through as well.
    Lamp mounting panel
    1. Rough separating cut (inner).
    1. Rough separating cut (outer).

  1. Lamp mounting panel
    1. Mill out the spot welds.
    1. Mill out the spot welds (two panel thicknesses).

  1. Lamp mounting panel
    • Mill out the spot welds from behind.

  1. Lamp mounting panel
    1. Mill out the spot welds.
    1. Mill out the spot welds from behind (two panel layers).

Installation
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The remainder of the welded joints are made with the back panel installed.
    Lamp mounting panel
    • Resistance spot weld.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Before puddle welding, obtain access through the existing hole in the quarter panel in order to drill one panel thickness through the lamp mounting panel in the lower region (arrowed).
