Removal and Installation

Special Tool(s)
303-1179
Holding Wrench, Crankshaft
General Equipment
Trolley jack

Removal

  1. Remove the following items:
    1. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Belt (303-05B Accessory Drive - 2.5L Duratec-RS (VI5)/2.5L Duratec-ST (VI5), Removal and Installation).
    1. Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt (303-05B Accessory Drive - 2.5L Duratec-RS (VI5)/2.5L Duratec-ST (VI5), Removal and Installation).

  1. General Equipment: Trolley jack

  1. Special Tool(s): 303-1179

Installation

  1. Check the position of the timing marks.

  1.  
    1. Torque: 20 Nm
    1. NOTE:
      NOTE:Make sure that a new component is installed.
    1. Depending on the engine temperature, tension the timing belt.
      Torque: 20 Nm
  1. Rotate the crankshaft two revolutions clockwise.

  1. Check the position of the timing marks.

  1. Check the position of the timing mark.

  1.  
    1. Special Tool(s): 303-1179
      Torque: 180 Nm
    1. Torque:
      Stage 1:
      25 Nm
      Stage 2:
      60°

  1.  
    1. Torque: 115 Nm
    1. Torque: 90 Nm

  1. Install the following items:
    1. Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt (303-05B Accessory Drive - 2.5L Duratec-RS (VI5)/2.5L Duratec-ST (VI5), Removal and Installation).
    1. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Belt (303-05B Accessory Drive - 2.5L Duratec-RS (VI5)/2.5L Duratec-ST (VI5), Removal and Installation).
