Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
    For additional information, refer to: Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

  1. Remove the engine undershield (if equipped).

  1. Remove the radiator lower splash shield.

  1. Remove the air deflector on both sides.

  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:When releasing the transmission fluid, take care to prevent scalding. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
    CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Plug the transmission fluid cooler lines to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress.

    NOTE:
    NOTE:The transmission fluid cooler lines connectors are color coded, the feed line is yellow and the return line is blue.
    Detach the transmission fluid cooler lines from the transmission fluid cooler.
    1. Push the transmission fluid cooler line quick release connector toward the transmission fluid cooler.
    1. Press together the retaining tabs and detach the transmission fluid cooler line from the transmission fluid cooler.
    • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

  1. Unclip the transmission fluid cooler on the left-hand side.
    • Pull the clip forwards and hold, then pull the transmission fluid cooler upwards out of the bracket (headlamp shown removed for clarity).

  1. Unclip the transmission fluid cooler on the right-hand side.
    • Pull the clip forwards and hold, then pull the transmission fluid cooler upwards out of the bracket (headlamp shown removed for clarity).

  1. Remove the transmission fluid cooler.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Check the automatic transmission fluid level and top up if necessary.
