  1. gloves
    Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
  1. Connect the Ford diagnostic equipment.
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that all diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have been removed after the road test.
    Make sure that the transmission is not in emergency operation mode.
  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:Make sure that the brake pedal and parking brake are fully applied during the test.
    Start the engine.

  1. Disconnect the Ford diagnostic equipment.
  1. Refer to: Air Cleaner - 2.0L Duratorq-TDCi (DW) Diesel (303-12A Intake Air Distribution and Filtering, Removal and Installation).

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that the vehicle is standing on a level surface.
    Refer to: Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
    Using a measuring container to collect the escaping transmission fluid until continuous flow changes into single drops.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:If transmission fluid escapes it is not an indication that the fluid level is correct.
    1. Main control chamber transmission fluid level.
    1. Gear set and clutch chamber transmission fluid level.
    1. Fluid level check bore.
  1. Using the measuring container, add the escaping transmission fluid to the before collected transmission fluid. Fill transmission fluid in 250 ml steps into the filling bore until transmission fluid drains out through the fluid level check bore again and wait until continuous flow changes into single drops.

    1. Shows the correct main control chamber transmission fluid level.
    1. Shows the correct gear set and clutch chamber transmission fluid level.

    • Recalculation of the old transmission fluid level:
    • Collected transmission fluid – filled transmission fluid = old transmission fluid level (e.g. if 300 ml have been collected and 2x 250 ml have been filled into the transmission, would mean that the old transmission fluid level was 200 ml to low).

  1. Torque: 35 Nm

  1. Torque: 35 Nm
