Heating and Ventilation - Heater Core Housing Focus RS 2003 (09/2002-)
Disassembly and Assembly

Disassembly
  1. Detach the floor level ventilation hose.
    • Pull off the hose.

  1. Separate the heater/heat exchanger housing parts.
    • Undo the two bolts.
    • Undo seven retaining tangs.

  1. Remove the heat exchanger.

  1. Pull out the heat exchanger.

  1. Separate the heater/blower housing parts.
    1. Undo the two bolts.
    1. Undo four retaining tangs.

  1. Separate the blower/recirculated air housing parts.
    • Undo nine retaining tangs.

  1. Dismantle the air recirculation housing.
    • Release the five retaining tabs.

  1. Remove the air deflector.

  1. Separate the heater/evaporator housing.
    • Undo 11 retaining tangs.

Assembly

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:When assembling, ensure that the guide pins are seated correctly.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Replacement steel clips must be used if the housing is not properly sealed after assembly or the retaining tangs are broken.
    Assemble the components in the reverse order.
