Disassembly and Assembly Disassembly | -
Remove the head restraint(s). | | -
Remove the backrest release button trim panel. | | -
Remove the head restraint guides. - Using a suitable screwdriver, depress the locking tang.

Remove the backrest retaining brackets. | | -
Detach the backrest cover from the backrest. - Detach the retaining strip.

Detach the backrest cover from the backrest release button. | | -
Detach the foam pad from the backrest release button. | | -
NOTE:Locking off the backrest latch allows the safety belt to be moved when the backrest is in its normal upright position. Lock off the backrest latch. | | -
CAUTION:Make sure the webbing retainer is fitted at least 200 mm towards the safety belt retractor from the webbing stop. Install the safety belt webbing retainer. | | -
Detach the safety belt webbing trim panel. - Move the webbing to gain access to the retainers.
- Drill out the rivets.

Remove the webbing trim panel. | | -
Remove the backrest cover. - Roll the backrest cover inwards to access the pleating hog rings.
- Cut the hog rings.
- Detach the hook loop tape.
- Feed the safety belt webbing through the backrest cover.

Remove the rear seat backrest. - Feed the safety belt webbing through the backrest.

Remove the hook loop tape. | | -
Remove the rear seat backrest carpet. | Assembly | -
WARNING:If the safety belt webbing retracts further than the stop on the webbing, a new safety belt retractor must be installed. CAUTION:Make sure the webbing retainer is fitted at least 200 mm from the webbing stop towards the retractor. NOTE:Use hog ring pliers to close the hog rings. Do not use any other tool. The hog rings must be closed to overlap as illustrated. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure. | | |
