Front Safety Belt Retractor Replacement for Focus RS 2003 - 20L Duratec-RS

Safety Belt System - Front Safety Belt Retractor—2.0L Duratec-RS (Zetec) Focus RS 2003 (09/2002-)
Removal and Installation

Removal
  1. Detach the safety belt lower anchor.
    1. Remove the Torx bolt from the anchor rail.
    1. Slide the safety belt off the anchor rail.

  1. Detach the B-pillar upper trim panel.
      NOTE:
      NOTE:Certain production trim panels have a retaining clip on the front edge.
    1. Detach the retaining clips.
    1. Remove the lower anchor bolt and spacer from the safety belt webbing.
    1. Feed the safety belt webbing through the B-pillar upper trim panel.

  1. Detach the upper safety belt anchor.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The screws are located behind the backrest and beneath the seat cushion.
    Remove the lower trim panel.
    1. Remove the lower screw.
    1. Remove the upper screw.
    1. Detach the front clips.
    1. Detach the upper clips.

  1. Detach the waist guide loop.
    1. Slide the waist guide loop backwards.
    1. Slide the waist guide loop down.
    1. Detach the waist guide loop.

  1. Remove the safety belt retractor.
    1. Remove the bolt.
    1. Lift the retractor from its locating tang.

Installation
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure the spacer is correctly located between the floor covering and inner sill.
    CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure the pin on the B-pillar trim is located correctly into the height adjuster.
    CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that the rear end of the anchor rail is correctly located before tightening the Torx bolt.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
