Safety Belt System - Rear Center Safety Belt Retractor—2.0L Duratec-RS (Zetec) Focus RS 2003 (09/2002-)
Removal and Installation

Removal
  1. Detach the center safety belt lower anchor.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The safety belt webbing retainer is supplied with new safety belts, and is not unique to Focus. Do not use any other retaining method.
    Install the safety belt webbing retainer before removing the seat cover and pad.
  1. Disassemble the rear seat backrest. For additional information, refer to Section  501-10 Seating.

  1. Lock off the rear seat backrest latch.

  1. Detach the retractor lock cable.

  1. Remove the center rear safety belt retractor.

Installation
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Check the operation of the safety belt retractor, the cable routing and latch interlock operation before fully assembling the rear seat backrest.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
