Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the climate control assembly. For additional information, refer to Section  412-04 Control Components.

  1. Detach the navigation system display module and mounting bracket assembly from the instrument panel.

  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the navigation system display module and mounting bracket assembly.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    1. Disconnect the antenna cable connector.

  1. Remove the navigation system display module wiring harness.

  1. Remove the navigation system display module rear support.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Navigation system display module removal tools are supplied with new navigation units.
    Using the tools supplied, remove the navigation system display module.

Installation
  1. Using the tools supplied, slide the navigation system display module retaining clips fully to the rear of the slots.

  1. Install the navigation system display module into the navigation system display module support bracket.

  1. Using the tools supplied, adjust the navigation system display module retaining clips so that there is no movement between the navigation system display module and its support bracket.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that masking tape is applied to the complete fascia of the navigation system display module to prevent possible damage to the fascia while installing the climate control and audio unit trim panel.
    Apply masking tape to the navigation system display module.

  1. Install the navigation system display module rear support.

  1. Install the navigation system display module wiring harness.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:To prevent possible damage to the navigation system display module while connecting the electrical connector, make sure that the antenna cable connector is connected first.
    Connect the electrical connectors to the navigation system display module.
    1. Connect the antenna cable connector.
    1. Connect the electrical connector.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:The navigation system display module wiring harness must not become trapped when installing the navigation system display module.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:The navigation system display module rear support must engage with the audio unit support bracket.
    Install the navigation system display module and mounting bracket assembly into the instrument panel.
  1. Install the climate control assembly. For additional information, refer to Section  412-04 Control Components.
