Remove the floor console.

Remove the steering column.

Remove the instrument cluster. For additional information, refer to: (413-01 Instrument Cluster) Instrument Cluster - Vehicles Built Up To: 10/2005 (Removal and Installation), Instrument Cluster - Vehicles Built From: 10/2005 (Removal and Installation). | | | -
Remove the A-pillar trim panels. | | | -
Detach the data link connector (DLC) from the driver side lower instrument panel. | | | -
Detach the liftgate remote release control switch from the instrument panel. | | | -
Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the liftgate remote release control switch. | | | -
Detach the passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) switch from the instrument panel. | | | -
Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the PAD switch. | | | -
Remove the instrument panel outer side trim panels. | | | -
Remove the instrument panel inner side trim panels. | | | -
Remove the instrument panel outer retaining screws and nut (left-hand side shown). | | | -
Remove the instrument panel center retaining nuts. | | | -
Remove the audio unit support bracket. | | | -
Detach the glove compartment striker from the cross-vehicle beam. | | | -
NOTE:Detach the instrument panel from the cross-vehicle beam to gain access to the exterior lighting control switch electrical connector. Disconnect the exterior lighting control switch electrical connector. | | | -
Remove the instrument panel. | Installation | | -
To install, reverse the removal procedure. | | |
