Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the battery. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.

  1. Detach the coolant expansion tank from the battery shield and position to one side.
    1. Disconnect the low level sensor electrical connector.
    1. Remove the coolant expansion tank retaining bolts.

  1. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector.

  1. Detach the engine wiring harness mounting bracket from the battery shield.

  1. Remove the battery side cover.
    1. Detach the coolant expansion tank hose from the battery side cover.
    1. Remove the battery side cover retaining bolts.

  1. Detach the battery junction box (BJB) from the front bulkhead assembly.
    1. Remove the BJB retaining screws.
    1. Slide the BJB towards the rear of the vehicle.

  1. Detach the battery front side cover from the front bulkhead assembly.

  1. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir retaining bolt.

  1. Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir return line.
    • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

  1. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir.
    1. Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir supply hose.
    1. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Fill and bleed the power steering system. For additional information, refer to Section  211-00 Steering System - General Information.
