Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Section  303-05 Accessory Drive.

  1. Using a 9 mm Allen key to prevent the power steering pump pulley from rotating, remove the power steering pump pulley.

  1. Detach the power steering pump from the mounting bracket.

  1. Remove the power steering line support bracket retaining bolt.

  1. Remove the power steering line.
    • Discard the sealing washers.
    • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

  1. Remove the power steering hose.
    • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.
  1. Remove the power steering pump.

Installation

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Install new sealing washers to the power steering line union.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Fill and bleed the power steering system. For additional information, refer to Section  211-00 Steering System - General Information.
