Removal

  1. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Section  303-05 Accessory Drive.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Apply high-temperature grease to the mating face of the special tool and the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt.
    Using three M8 x 25 bolts, install the special tool on the crankshaft pulley.

  1. Using two M8 x 30 mm bolts, install the special tool on the crankshaft pulley.
  1. Remove the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt and remove the crankshaft pulley.
    • Discard the retaining bolt.
  1. Remove the special tools from the crankshaft pulley.

  1. Detach the power steering line bracket from the engine.

  1. Remove the engine front cover (16 bolts).
    • Discard the engine front cover.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install a new engine front cover.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:A new engine front cover is supplied with a crankshaft front oil seal alignment sleeve that must be removed following installation.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:A new lower front cover is supplied with an alignment sleeve that must be removed following installation.
    Install the engine front cover (16 bolts).
  1. Remove the crankshaft front oil seal alignment sleeve.

  1. Attach the power steering line bracket to the engine.

  1. Using the special tool, install the crankshaft pulley.
  1. Remove the special tool from the crankshaft pulley.
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install a new crankshaft pulley retaining bolt.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Do not fully tighten the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt at this stage.
    Install the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt.

  1. Using three M8 x 25 bolts, install the special tool on the crankshaft pulley.

  1. Using two M8 x 30 bolts, install the special tool on the crankshaft pulley.
  1. Tighten the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt in two stages.
    • Stage 1: 52 Nm
    • Stage 2: 85 degrees
  1. Remove the special tools from the crankshaft pulley.
  1. Install the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Section  303-05 Accessory Drive.
