Removal and Installation

Removal

WARNING:
WARNING:Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may ignite. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
  1. Release the fuel system pressure. For additional information, refer to Section  310-00 Fuel System - General Information.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable(s). For additional information, refer to Section  414-00 Charging System - General Information.
  1. Remove the throttle body.
    For additional information, refer to Throttle Body in this section.
  1. Remove the air cleaner. For additional information, refer to Section  303-12 Intake Air Distribution and Filtering.

  1. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.

  1. Remove the fuel supply and fuel return line retaining bracket.

  1. Disconnect the fuel supply and fuel return lines. For additional information, refer to Section  310-00 Fuel System - General Information.

  1. Disconnect the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator.

  1. Remove the fuel injection supply manifold.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
