In-vehicle Repair Special Tool(s) | Remover, Torque Converter Oil Seal 307-272 (17-061) | | Socket, Flywheel Bolt 303-502 (21-205) | | Slide Hammer 205-047 (15-011) | | Remover, Drive Pinion Oil Seal 205-078 (15-048) | | Adapter for 205-078 205-078-01 (15-048-01) | | Installer, Differential Double Lip Oil Seal 308-203 (16-066) | General Equipment Removal NOTE:Shift the transaxle selector lever into "P" (park) position. | -
Remove the engine undershield. | | -
CAUTION:Protect the lower arm ball joint seal using a soft cloth to prevent damage. Detach the lower arm from the wheel knuckle. | | -
CAUTION:The inner joint must not be bent more than 20 degrees, the outer joint must not be bent more than 50 degrees. Detach the left-hand front halfshaft from the transaxle output drive flange. - Secure the left-hand front halfshaft to one side, using cable ties.

Using the special tool, remove the left-hand output drive flange. - Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.

Using the special tool, remove the left-hand halfshaft oil seal. | Installation | -
Using the special tool, install the left-hand halfshaft oil seal. | | -
NOTE:Install a new left-hand output shaft drive flange snap ring. Install the left-hand output drive flange. | | -
Install the output drive flange to the transaxle rear housing. - Install two flange bolts diagonally. Using a suitable tire lever, prevent the transaxle output drive flange from rotating.

CAUTION:The inner joint must not be bent more than 20 degrees, the outer joint must not be bent more than 50 degrees. Attach the left-hand front drive half- shaft to the transaxle output drive flange. | | -
Attach the lower arm to the wheel knuckle. | | -
Install the engine undershield. | | -
