NOTE:Shift the transaxle selector lever into "P" (park) position. | | -
Remove the engine undershield. | | -
CAUTION:Protect the lower arm ball joint seal using a soft cloth to prevent damage. Detach the lower arm from the wheel knuckle. | | -
CAUTION:Support the halfshaft. The inner joint must not be bent more than 20 degrees the outer joint must not be bent more than 50 degrees. Detach the right-hand front drive halfshaft and intermediate shaft from the transaxle. - Detach the center bearing from the center bearing carrier.
- Secure the right-hand front drive halfshaft to one side using cable tie.

Using a suitable bearing remover (Kuko 1502) and the special tool, release the right-hand intermediate shaft extension assembly. | | -
Remove the right-hand intermediate shaft. - Remove and discard the snap ring.
- Remove and discard the O-ring.
- Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.

Using the special tools, remove the halfshaft oil seal. | Installation | -
Using the special tool, install the halfshaft oil seal. | | -
NOTE:Install a new O-ring and snap ring. NOTE:Make sure the snap ring is fully engaged, by pulling the rear transaxle housing. Install the intermediate shaft extension assembly. - Install the compression spring.
- Install the O-ring.

CAUTION:The inner joint must not be bent more than 20 degrees, the outer joint must not be bent more than 50 degrees. Attach the right-hand front drive halfshaft and intermediate shaft to the transaxle. - Push the intermediate shaft into the axle output drive flange.
- Attach the center bearing to the center bearing carrier.

Attach the right-hand lower arm to the wheel knuckle. | | -
Install the engine undershield. | | -
