Disassembly and Assembly

Disassembly
  1. Remove the gearshift linkage housing retaining bolts (four bolts).

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Mark the position of the shank spring.
    Remove the shank spring.
    • Remove the circlip.

  1. Remove the gearshift cable and the selector cable mountings.
    1. Remove the gearshift cable mounting.
    1. Remove the selector cable mounting.

  1. Remove the gearshift linkage cover.
    • Remove the rubber bearing.

  1. Using a suitable drift, remove the gearshift lever pivot pin.

  1. Disassemble the gearshift linkage.
    1. Remove the upper rubber mounting.
    1. Remove the O-ring seal.
    1. Remove the gearshift lever.
    1. Remove the O-ring seal.
    1. Remove the gearshift lever ball seat.
    1. Remove the lower rubber mounting.
    1. Remove the gearshift lever housing.
    1. Remove the selector cable mounting bushing.
    1. Remove the selector lever.
    • Discard the O-ring seals, rubber mountings and bushings.

  1. Remove the cranked gearshift lever bushing.
    • Discard the bushing.

Assembly
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install new O-ring seals, rubber mountings and bushings.
    Assemble the gearshift linkage.
    1. Install the gearshift lever housing.
    1. Install the upper rubber mounting.
    1. Install the gearshift lever ball seat.
    1. Install the O-ring seal.
    1. Install the selector cable mounting bushing.
    1. Install the cranked lever.
    1. Install the cranked lever bushing.
    1. Install the gear lever.
    1. Install the O-ring seal.
    1. Install the upper rubber mounting.

  1. Install the gearshift lever pivot pin.
    • Install the rubber bearing.

  1. Install the gearshift linkage cover.

  1. Install the gearshift cable and the selector cable mountings.
    1. Install the gearshift cable mounting.
    1. Install the selector cable mounting.
  1. Install the shank spring into the marked position.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install a new circlip.
    Tension the shank spring.
    • Install the circlip.

  1. Install the gearshift linkage housing retaining bolts (four bolts).
