Disassembly and Assembly

Disassembly
  1. Remove the cover plate.

  1. Remove the selector lever circlip.
    • Discard the circlip.

  1. Remove the gearshift lever.
    1. Remove the selector lever.
    1. Remove the shank spring.
    1. Remove the gearshift lever.

  1. Remove the selector lever bushings.
    • Discard the bushings.

  1. Detension the reverse gear locking mechanism.
    1. Depress the gearshift lever compression spring bushing.
    1. Remove the snap ring.
    • Discard the snap ring.

  1. Disassemble the gearshift lever.
    1. Remove the snap ring.
    1. Remove the bushing.
    1. Remove the compression spring.
    1. Remove the bushing.
    1. Remove the damper.
    1. Remove the bearing cup.
    1. Remove the lever guide sleeves.
    1. Remove the damper disc.
    1. Remove the gearshift lever.
    • Discard the snap ring and the bushings.

  1. Disassemble the selector lever.
    1. Remove the snap ring.
    1. Remove the bearing bushing.
    1. Remove the bearing bushing.
    1. Remove the bearing pivot shaft.
    1. Remove the guide bushing.
    1. Remove the compression spring.
    1. Remove the retaining bolt.
    1. Remove the selector lever.
    • Discard the snap ring and the bushings.

Assembly
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install a new snap ring and new bushings.
    Assemble the selector lever.
    1. Install the selector lever.
    1. Install the retaining bolt.
    1. Install the compression spring.
    1. Install the guide bushing.
    1. Install the bearing pivot shaft.
    1. Install the bearing bushing.
    1. Install the bearing bushing.
    1. Install the snap ring.
    • Install the snap ring and bushings.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install new gearshift lever bushings and snap ring.
    Assemble the gearshift lever.
    1. Install the gearshift lever.
    1. Install the damper disc.
    1. Install the lever guide sleeves.
    1. Install the bearing cup.
    1. Install the damper.
    1. Install the bushing.
    1. Install the compression spring.
    1. Install the bushing.
    1. Install the snap ring.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install a new snap ring.
    Tension the reverse gear locking mechanism.
    1. Depress the gearshift lever compression spring bushing.
    1. Install the snap ring.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install new selector lever bushings.
    Install the selector lever bushings.

  1. Install the gearshift lever.
    1. Install the gearshift lever.
    1. Install the shank spring.
    1. Install the selector lever.

  1. Install the cover plate.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install a new selector shaft circlip.
    Install the circlip.
