Removal and Installation

Special Tool(s)

Socket, Fuel Tank Sender Unit

Removal

WARNING:
WARNING:Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may ignite. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable(s). For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.

  1. Remove the rear scuff plate trim panel.
  1. Remove the loadspace trim panels. For additional information, refer to Section  501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation.
  1. Remove the seat anchor trim covers.

  1. Remove the floor console register cover.

  1. Remove the floor console register.

  1. Detach the floor covering (both sides).
  1. Remove the rear floor covering through the liftgate aperture.

  1. Remove the seat base retaining anchor rail.

  1. Remove the fuel level sensor access cover.

  1. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel level sensor. For additional information, refer to Section  310-00 Fuel System - General Information.

  1. Disconnect the fuel level sensor electrical connector.

  1. Using the special tool, remove the fuel level sensor.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
