Disassembly and Assembly

Disassembly

  1. Remove the head restraint.
  1. Lower the child safety seat.

  1. Release the child safety seat cover zip.
    1. Detach the zip tracks from both sides of the child safety seat cover.
    1. Release the zip.

  1. Detach the child safety safety belt buckle from the child safety seat cover.

  1. Detach the upper edge of the child safety seat cover from the child safety seat backrest.

  1. Remove the child safety seat cover.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Note the routing and position of the cable ties to aid installation.
    Remove the cable ties from the child safety seat backrest.

  1. Detach the child safety seat backrest from the backrest pivot.

  1. Detach the child safety seat backrest locating lugs from the track.

  1. Remove the child safety seat backrest.
    • Detach the child safety belt webbing.

  1. Detach the child safety belt lower anchors from the backrest.
    • Remove the retaining bolts.

  1. Remove the child safety seat backrest panel.

  1. Detach the child safety belt buckle from the backrest.
    1. Carefully bend up each end of the wire rod.
    1. Detach the wire rod from the retaining tangs.
    1. Remove the wire rod from the safety belt webbing.
    1. Detach the child safety belt buckle.

  1. Remove the child safety seat cushion.
    • Cut the cable ties.
    • Detach the child safety seat cushion pivot from the backrest.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Note the routing of the strap to aid assembly.
    Remove the child safety seat cushion cover.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Note the routing of the strap to aid assembly.
    Remove the child safety seat base.

  1. Remove the child safety belt buckle.

  1. Remove the backrest inlay plate retaining clips.

  1. Remove the backrest inlay plate.
    • Detach the backrest inlay plate upper edge from the locating lug.

  1. Remove the head restraint guides.
    1. Using a suitable screwdriver, release the locking tangs.
    1. Remove the guides.

  1. Remove the child safety belt retractor release surround.

  1. Detach the zip tracks from both sides of the backrest.

  1. Release the zip and roll the backrest cover up the backrest.

  1. Detach the child safety belt webbing from the backrest cover.

  1. Remove the backrest cover.

  1. Remove the child safety seat backrest frame.
    • Detach the backrest.
  1. Remove the child safety belt retractor. For additional information, refer to Section  501-20 Supplemental Restraint System.

Assembly
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Use hog ring pliers to close the hog rings. Do not use any other tool. The hog rings must be closed to overlap as illustrated.
    To assemble, reverse the disassemble procedure.
