Removal and Installation

Removal

All vehicles
  1. Move the seat fully forwards.

  1. Remove the cover plate (if equipped).

  1. Disconnect the heated seat electrical connector (if equipped).
Vehicles with side air bags
  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:Always wear safety glasses when working on an air bag equipped vehicle and when handling an air bag module. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
    WARNING:
    WARNING:To avoid accidental deployment, the air bag control module backup power supply must be depleted. Wait at least one minute after disconnecting the battery ground cable(s) before commencing any repair or adjustment to the supplemental restraint system (SRS), or any component(s) adjacent to the SRS sensors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
    Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.

  1. Disconnect the side air bag module electrical connector.
    1. Release the safety cover.
    1. Release the locking tang.
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Note the routing of the side air bag module harness to aid installation.
    Detach the side air bag module harness from the bracket.
    • Rotate the electrical connector 90 degrees.
All vehicles

  1. Disconnect the video system electrical connector (if equipped).

  1. Remove the seat rear retaining bolts.
  1. Move the seat fully rearwards.

  1. Remove the seat inner retaining bolt cover.

  1. Remove the seat outer retaining bolt cover.

  1. Remove the seat front retaining bolts.
  1. Raise the front of the seat to gain access to the electrical cables.

  1. Withdraw the electrical cables through the access hole.
  1. Remove the seat.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
