Retractor, Caliper Piston

1. Loosen the wheel nuts.

2. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

3. Remove the wheel.

4. Detach the brake caliper.
   1. Remove the brake caliper lower bolt.
   2. Rotate the brake caliper upwards.

5. Remove the brake pads.

   CAUTION:When the brake caliper piston is retracted into the piston housing, brake fluid will be displaced from the master cylinder.
   Using the special tool, fully retract the caliper piston.

2. Install the brake pads.

3. Install the brake caliper lower bolt.

4. Install the wheels.

5. Depress the brake pedal twice.

6. Check the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir.
   • Fill as necessary.
