Remover/Installer, Hose Clamp

303-397 (24-003)

1. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to cooling system Draining, Filling and Bleeding in this Section.

2. Lower the vehicle.

3. Remove the air cleaner. For additional information, refer to Section  303-12 Intake Air Distribution and Filtering.

4. Using the special tool, disconnect the coolant hose from the the thermostat housing.

5. Using the special tool, disconnect the coolant hoses from the thermostat housing.

6. Detach the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.
   1. Remove the ECT sensor retaining clip.
   2. Detach the ECT sensor.

7. Using the special tool, disconnect the coolant hose from the thermostat housing.

8. Remove the thermostat housing.

9. Remove and discard the gasket.

   NOTE:Install a new thermostat housing gasket.
   To install, reverse the removal procedure.
