Ford LTD workshop manuals
Ford LTD at a glance: 14 manuals, covering 1982 to 1987 models, with engines from 2.3 to 5.8 litres.
About the LTD
The LTD began in 1965 as the top of Ford's full-size range. For 1983 the name split in two: the full-size car became the LTD Crown Victoria (with the LTD Country Squire wagon), while the LTD name moved to a smaller mid-size car on the Fox platform, replacing the Granada. The mid-size LTD was replaced by the Taurus for 1986, and the LTD Crown Victoria became the Crown Victoria for 1992.
What these manuals cover
- LTD Crown Victoria and Country Squire (1982–1987): the full-size rear-wheel-drive Panther-platform cars, with the 4.2, 5.0 and 5.8-litre V8s.
- Mid-size LTD (1983–1986): the 2.3-litre four, the 3.3-litre straight-six and the 3.8-litre V6.
- LTD wagons (1982–1986) with the 5.0 and 5.8-litre V8s.
Tip: check whether your car is the full-size or the mid-size LTD before choosing a manual. The Mercury Grand Marquis is the LTD Crown Victoria's twin, and the Mercury Marquis is the mid-size LTD's.
