Accessory Drive - Accessory Drive Belt—1.8L Diesel Mondeo 1997 (08/1996-09/2000)
Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.
  1. Loosen the front right-hand wheel nuts.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.
  1. Remove the right-hand front wheel.

  1. Remove the right-hand front wheelhouse liner.

  1. Remove the right-hand front wheelhouse rear liner.

  1. De-tension the drive belt.
    1. Slacken the tensioner pulley bolt.
    1. De-tension the belt with the adjusting bolt.
  1. Lift the drive belt over the pulleys and remove.

Installation

  1. Install the drive belt over the pulleys.
  1. Adjust the drive belt.
    For additional information, refer to Accessory Drive Belt Adjustment in this section.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
