Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Raise the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Detach the heat shield and undo the nuts on the gear lever.
  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Remove the shift mechanism.
    • Unclip the boot from the centre console.
    • Detach the shift cable and the selector cable.
    • Remove the shift and selector cables from their abutment brackets by twisting each abutment bracket counter-clockwise.

Installation
  1. Refit the components in reverse order.
  1. Adjust the shift cable and the selector cable. For additional information, refer to Section  308-00 Manual Transmission/Transaxle and Clutch - General Information.
