Removal and Installation

Special Tool(s)

Socket wrench, fuel tank sender unit

Removal

WARNING:
WARNING:Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and can ignite. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury.
WARNING:
WARNING:Before repairing or disconnecting any fuel lines or components, the fuel system pressure must be relieved. Failure to follow this instruction can result in personal injury.
  1. Relieve the fuel pressure. For additional information, refer to Section  310-00A Fuel System - General Information / 310-00B Fuel System - General Information.

  1. Lift the rear seat cushion and remove the grommet.

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  1. Disconnect the fuel pipes.

  1. Release the locking ring. Remove the fuel pump/sender unit assembly.

Installation

  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and can ignite. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Fit a new sealing ring.
