Fuel Tank and Lines - Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) - Fuel Tank Filler Valve Mondeo 1997 (08/1996-09/2000)
Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Evacuate the fuel lines. For additional information, refer to Section  310-00A Fuel System - General Information / 310-00B Fuel System - General Information.

  1. Remove the fuel tank filler valve cover.

  1. Detach the fuel filler valve rubber cap.
    1. Release the retaining clip.
    1. Detach the fuel filler valve rubber cap.

  1. Disconnect the fuel line.

  1. Remove the fuel tank filler valve.

Installation
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Excessive tightening of the fuel line could cause creasing/distortion of the body panel.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure a waterproof seal is made around the filler lip using body mastic. Clean off excess sealer when installed.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Prime the fuel tank filler valve by re-fuelling the fuel tank.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and carry out a fuel system leak test. For additional information, refer to Section  310-00A Fuel System - General Information / 310-00B Fuel System - General Information.
