Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Evacuate the fuel tank and fuel lines. For additional information, refer to Section  310-00A Fuel System - General Information / 310-00B Fuel System - General Information.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Remove the rear muffler heat shield.

  1. Disconnect the fuel line.

  1. Disconnect the fuel line.

  1. Disconnect the fuel line.

  1. Remove the ring fuel tank bolts.

  1. Remove the fuel line cover.
  1. Lower the vehicle.
  1. Remove the rear seat base.

  1. Disconnect the ring fuel tank electrical connectors.
  1. Remove the luggage compartment protective floor covering.

  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:Do not attempt to lift the fuel tank without the assistance of a floor crane. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
    Install a suitable floor crane to the ring fuel tank studs using suitable brackets.

  1. Using the floor crane remove the ring fuel tank.

Installation
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Prime the fuel filter by re-fuelling the fuel tank.
  1. Switch the ignition ON and carry out the fuel system leak test. For additional information, refer to Section  310-00A Fuel System - General Information / 310-00B Fuel System - General Information.
