Removal and Installation

Removal

WARNING:
WARNING:Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and can ignite. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.

  1. Remove the intake plenum bolts.

  1. Disconnect the air cleaner outlet pipe.

  1. Lift the plenum from the vehicle and disconnect the vacuum pipe.

  1. Remove the cable securing clip.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the bracket.
    1. Rotate the quadrant.
    1. Lift the cable out of the bracket.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the throttle quadrant.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the pedal.

  1. Pull the cable through the bulkhead.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Adjust the accelerator cable.
